I have been extremely fortunate over the last forty years to work with many wonderful people of God all over North America and in different parts of the world. But no experience in ministry has been more rewarding to me personally, than having an opportunity to visit and work with the people of East Africa. The raw beauty of the land coupled with the extreme generosity of the people have been absolutely awe-inspiring. In a country that has very little material wealth, you will never find a richer people. It is my fervent hope to return there often, and bring with me as many people to visit that country as the good Lord will allow.
My first visit to Tanzania was in October of 2004 where I traveled with Father John Judie and a group of people from the Louisville, KY area. There I was invited to conduct a music workshop with the local cathedral choir, and speak at the seminary. My second visit I was invited to preach at a revival in the town of Morogoro and also to give a workshop on liturgy.
I have just returned from my third visit with a group of sixteen people from around the US and Canada. There I preached at a parish mission in the Cathedral of Arusha, and along with the people who accompanied me, performed at an outdoor concert. Once again it was a wonderful journey and all who made the trip were truly moved by the experience. Many have expressed a desire to return with me next year. If you would like to be included in our next African adventure, please check this page in the near future to find out details about our next visit.
